Scion Technical has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for an experienced Senior Market Intelligence Data Analyst for our client, a wonderful consumer goods organization in Carson, CA! In this role, you’ll utilize multiple data sources to analyze competitive insight data for stakeholders and ensuring the organization is presenting value to our customers. You’ll interact with other teams, ensuring that the best strategies are in place utilizing market info to position the organization in both consumer value and corporate profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on data warehousing and business intelligence analysis skills in a retail environment. This is a full time, hybrid role!

  • Compensation range is $120-150k+, depending on experience

What you will be doing:
  • Data mining and analysis of internal and sourced data (3rd party vendors, primary/secondary research, data providers, investor/industry news)
  • Analysis of competitor strategies related to marketing, online commerce, loyalty programs, pricing, promotions, locations, product assortment and more.
  • Produce reporting utilizing data and visualization tools that are timely and effective for business partners and stakeholders
  • Work with merchandising analytics team with items such as category management review, competitor onsite visits, industry innovations, and competitor changes.
  • Inform stakeholders of impactful strategies, opportunities and risks.

What you will need:
  • 3+ years of practical data science/analytics experience
  • Demonstrated experience in data analytics in a data science, merchandising analytics, business analytics, or similar consumer research role
  • Expertise in data mining and reporting, particularly with SQL and relational databases.
  • 1+years of experience in a retail/sales environment; preference for CPG/Grocery
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (such as Tableau or PowerBI) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering preferred
