Scion Staffing (www.scionstaffing.com) is leading a search for a Director of Facilities Operations for our client, a well-established social services agency in San Jose serving a very diverse population in the medical and mental health arena.

This role provides oversight to the IT and facilities departments supporting a 108,000 square foot facility housing a community health services agency. The role reports to the CFO and supervised 2 other individuals. You would have the ultimate responsibility for the condition and functionality of the facility managing day-to-day operations, planning, renovations, maintenance, safety, compliance, and environmental standards and other facilities related service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Administer Tenant Services and meet requirements for healthcare building tenant
  • Establish and maintain asset management plan, capital project budgets and schedules
  • Manage the shipping, receiving and purchasing for the agency
  • Provide expertise in health and safety regulations and coordinate agency wide training with HR.
  • Lead and serve on various committees including the Compliance Committee, QI Committee, and Emergency Preparedness Committee
  • Lead, motivate, develop and coach the facilities and It teams, prioritize work and allocate internal and external resources. Develop long range plans for the efficient operation and maintenance of facilities, grounds, telecom, environmental and utility systems.
  • Oversee Design and Construction projects. Serve as project manager in the planning of facilities-related projects for leased and owned facilities, assuring compliance and timely completion overseeing all aspects of contractor performance
  • Lead first response team for after-hours emergencies. Coordinates with police and safety officers to verify building integrity and safety  (There’s only been 1 incident in the last several years)

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years managing operations and maintenance in a public building or high traffic environment.
  • Experience in the operational maintenance of a hospital or healthcare organization preferred.
  • Experience managing capital and expense budgets
  • Knowledge of regulations, procedures or technical reference materials relating to building maintenance
  • Working knowledge of electrical/mechanical/plumbing/structural operating procedures, accident prevention rules, OSHA Regulations
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage building operational services; develop, implement and evaluate a variety of building and operation systems and preventative maintenance programs
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus with a wide variety of people

  • Knowledge of emergency operations
  • Related  education or training and certification such as FMP, CFM, BOMI, or similar
  • Driver’s License and reliable transportation to travel to and manage the regional facilities and staff
