Scion Staffing, Inc. (www.scionstaffing.com), a full-service national staffing firm, has been engaged to conduct a search for an E-Commerce Merchandiser for a 37 yr old retail furnishing company located in Kent WA

Job Description:
You will be responsible for maintaining and placing merchandising and marketing content of company owned web properties and retail partner sites. Duties include content placement, including formatting, creating and following naming conventions, uploading images, writing copy and building relationships with site merchandisers, responding to content requests from marketing & merchandising partners, determining applications of our products for specific items, both virtually and physically, and ensuring that all content is compatible with desktop and mobile devices.

The E-Commerce Merchandiser will be asked to navigate the retail content distribution network, using proprietary portals, spreadsheets, FTPs and other services to ensure that products and their associated content are placed in as many locations as possible. You will be a part of the E-Commerce team and will report to that department’s manager. You would also be responsible to manage and lead overseas team.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze customer interaction on web to create optimized category, landing, and homepage designs on all platforms in Magento 2.
  • Creates product detail pages through web platform (Magento 2) after Product Managers have finalized new products.
  • Respond quickly to setup requests and help department to increase the number of SKUs in the online marketplace by 30%. This represents over 8000 placements for the department.
  • Learn content management systems quickly and work to increase our number of ‘perfect SKUs’ by 30% by uploading existing content. This represents an increase of 1100 perfect SKUs. A perfect SKU is an item with 7+ images, a video and optimized copy.
  • Work to improve the search on marketplace through various content strategy (keywords, optimized title, FAQ’s, application of user generated content, use of review syndication tools).
  • Analyze sales and web data to suggest and create merchandising tactics and sales opportunities
  • Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and out of stock alert process, work with inventory team to proactively initiate transfers, ensure accuracy.
  • Works with Logistics team, Media team, Email and promotions to forecast appropriate inventory
  • Works cross functionally to ensure site is using best practices for SEO, identify content, copy changes on product pages, category pages and home pages that may be made to help boost search engine rankings
  • Submits error and new features tickets to the Development team and follows up accordingly
  • Works with Marketing to maintain a best-in-class review program
  • Establish copy and image refresh schedule and work with the Marketing Team to execute accordingly
  • Ensure pricing on our brand sites is accurate and promotional pricing is coordinated with the sales team
  • Work closely with the contact center to resolve any website related customer issues, and ensure the agents are aware of ongoing and future promotion
  • Manage the automated feeds and their content and work with digital agency to ensure that everything is accurate and in place
  • Keep the warranty database up-to-date with new products for customer warranty registration.
  • Keep up-to-date with digital and E-Commerce trends and bring up new initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors & freelancers on guidelines, expectations, and due dates.
  • Manage the maintenance and audit of private label product data in Magento mainframe, project database, files, and archive.
  • Manage and perform quality control inspections, audits, monthly reports and quarterly summaries.
  • Negotiate and implement approved pricing for private label materials.
  • Proofread artwork proofs, instruction sheets and parts diagrams.
  • Streamline and troubleshoot operational fulfillment and purchasing issues.
  • Learn our brand and collaborate with the E-Commerce and Marketing teams to reflect brand voice properly throughout your work.
  • Manage 3rd party vendors such as Amazon, Houzz, Ebay & Wayfair via software solution.
  • Develop a digital merchandising vision, strategy and road map based on customer and business needs.
  • Define and drive digital merchandising strategies that deliver increased conversion, sales, average order value and other key metrics.
  • Responsible for the entirety of the onsite experience, ensuring all promotions, products and content is added to the set when required
  • SME in user tools of our commerce platform
  • Develop site optimization strategy and calendar to drive short and long-term revenue, conversion, and retention goals. Lead A/B testing program.
  • Partner with the marketing team to enhance our landing page capabilities and develop, test, and launch leading site experiences that connect to our advertising strategies.
Requirements:
  • 3+years of E-Commerce/Digital Marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or relevant field
  • 3+ years of Magento 2 expert
  • Other software skills: 3+ years of Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat Pro, Magento 2, Word, Outlook, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Salsify, Navision, Jet Reports
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
