Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Director of Plant Operations for immediate hire for our client, a leading manufacturer of building products. This is an exciting Full-Time opportunity located onsite in Saint Augustine, FL!  

This role reports to the CEO and oversees daily plant activities, including engineering, production scheduling, and quality assurance while driving lean manufacturing initiatives.

SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Friday 5am-5pm


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversees daily operations to deliver quality products on time while meeting efficiency and productivity goals.
  • Implements strategies to align manufacturing processes with strategic objectives.
  • Sets accountability for problem-solving and cost reduction across departments.
  • Optimizes manpower utilization and reduces quality costs through periodic analysis and corrective actions.
  • Enhances safety by addressing physical risks and fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Reviews performance metrics, leads improvement initiatives, and engages with employees on the floor.
  • Ensures business objectives and production schedules are met while exceeding customer expectations.
  • Manages budgets in alignment with production volume and cost-efficiency goals.
  • Fosters employee involvement and collaboration with departments like Sales, HR, and Finance to streamline production flow.
  • Maintains high facility and maintenance standards and coordinates with those teams to maximize asset ROI.
  • Minimizes manufacturing costs through effective use of manpower, materials, and capital.
  • Drives a continuous improvement culture and promotes lean practices.
  • Provides leadership in communication, coaching, training, and employee retention.
  • Holds teams accountable for results and addresses issues proactively.
  • Manages inventory to increase turnover and reduce stock levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing large teams in a manufacturing plant.
  • Expertise in Manufacturing Engineering, including process flow, plant layout, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and financial KPIs.
  • Proven commitment to prioritizing safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities focused on meeting customer expectations.
  • Successful track record in managing P&L for a manufacturing facility.



COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The salary range for this role is $135,000-$140,000yr with a potential 10% performance bonus along with offering 
health benefits, 401(k) employee match, flexible time off, life insurance plus more!
