Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search fora Senior Material Planner for immediate hire for our client, a leading manufacturer in building products. This is an exciting Full-Time opportunity located onsite in Saint Augustine, FL!
As the Senior Material Planner, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing materials for production and managing inventories to ensure that material levels are sufficient to support production schedules and are within total inventory targets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage material levels to ensure sufficient inventory is maintained to support production demand within overall inventory targets
Analyze demand forecasts, sales data, and historical usage to calculate raw material needs
Regularly analyze data to track material availability, usage rates, lead times, and delivery performance
Ensure materials meet specifications, quality standards, and optimal cost
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and resolve supply-chain related issues in a timely manner
Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards
Support and execute purchasing activities, monitor delivery dates, and proactively address delays or other issues that may impact production
Ensure timely receipt of raw materials, and ERP tool accuracy including vendor lead-times
Identify and implement process improvements for material planning and inventory management
Generate detailed reports on inventory status, potential shortages, and overstock situations
Prepare and present material planning performance metrics, inventory projections, and strategies to mitigate risk
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field
Proven experience as a Material Planner, Supply Chain Analyst, or similar role
Understanding of material requirements planning (MRP) and experience with enterprise resource planning tools and programs.
